Unknown caller questions

I am getting a lot of unknown caller phone calls. I have a strict rule about unknown caller phone calls.
But what are some reasons a person blocks their phone number?

There needs to an open two way line of communication in my point of view.

I guess I am just trying to understand it. I am unable to block those calls. They do not leave a message. It’s very odd.

Too much spam, fraud and robocalls. Most cell services offer an app to help filter spam calls, unfortunately they are only 80% effective. They are effective aganist blocked caller id private calls as they get a recording to unlock caller id or the call will not be permitted to go through. Keep your policy and send them to voice mail. If its important enough they will leave a message. I used to always answer and give the a jolly roger type of hard time, waisting their time as much as they were waisting mine. That got old, now I dont even bother. If your number is posted anywhere on the net then you will be spammed by fraud.

cos they dont want the person being called to know who is calling or from where.

if you get an "unknown caller" call, just ignore it, period.
dont attempt to figure out why they're doing it - you'll just waste ur time.
it could be spam callers, scammers, or even guys attempting to hookup w/ you.

as said above, if it's important, they'll leave a voice msg or txt you.

I'm looking to buy a new car. I activated a second burner number because the only thing worse than being harassed by a "manager" is being harassed by a car salesman (or a politician, or a reporter, or a collection agency....)

Lots of reasons to block your number or use a burner number having nothing to do with the hobby.
