It is a damn shame that our country has come to be ruled by a party rather than by the will of the jpeople through our elected officials. The oower, the rules, evberything that keeps getting them re-elected will either be used for or against them depending on how they toe the party line rather than that of the people. Vote against the party and you lose the p[arty support.\Sort of reminds me of the Communist party of the old USSR, sure there were other parties but they were kept in check with gulags and the fear of the repercussions of not following the party line.

The issue is clear in what is seen in states such as Nebraska who will get a sweetheart deal and who knows what sort of personal deal the senator form Nebraska got from the DNC.
Part of the problem is that Nebraska is getting my money. Where is the money for Texas?
Its not that I want Texas to get any payoff money as it isnt right in the first place.
The drive to complete control and domination by the "intellectuals" that are in charge via buying the votes that are needed at the expense of the rest of the country shows just a glimpse of what they are willing to do to sell us all out.

This is an election year and if they are willing to go along with stealing from some staes to pay off others they will steal it form the only place they can get it from and that is YOU. It is time to wake up people and see them for what they are. Vote them out!!!

We need a better class of criminal in Congress and this President, unless a miracle occurs, will be a one termer. He is audaciously arrogant.

Somehow our politicians stopped thinking for themselves and the concept of shared sacrifice has escaped our lexicon.

We have gone down a slippery slope from a country that valued personal responsibility and now promotes political favoritism at the expense of our best and brightest. Congressmen and women have come to prize their jobs over what's best for everyone or the voice of their constituents.

A flat tax is a progressive tax in that the more you make the more you pay, but everyone pays in proportion to their earnings. If we have to pay taxes, then everyone should pay taxes, maybe not a lot of money, but everyone should pay something.

A sales tax would be an interesting way to curb consumption.

Repeal the Drug bill for Medicare, it's only raised prices and made the Drug companies rich.

Legalize and regulate currently illegal drugs. The war on drugs has been a miserable failure. People obviously seek them out. If they're legal, then they can be made more safely and they can be taxed. We owe it to our neighbors, who are fighting for their sovereignty over our illegal drug trade.

Let's stop earmarks while we're at it and remove the currency from the horse trading in Washington.

Make foreign aid a purchase of a country's sovereignty, like a share, and give us a formal vote in their affairs. It will either stop foreign aid or stop the problems with corruptions and crime in the receiving countries.

Yes change the Congress out, but be informed and selective.

Earmarks are perhaops the only transparent spending that actually ocurs in that the money has to go for what it is earmarked for. The bad thing is that these are generally used to buy votes and are limited in who they benefit.
I cant say get rid of earmakes if that is the best way to control spending. I can say eliminate them if it is little more than political capital.
