Just a few observations that are not political but are often missing from this debate.
1) A well known economic phenomenon in economics is that supply often begets demand. The rule is applicable to many other social situations, including this one.
2) The presence of a gun is an explicit threat to all in the vicinity. It is not a singular, private act. Let now one act surprised when others treat it as such.

Another point I have noticed is that my apartment and several other large complexes I checked out have posted LARGE signs around the property saying > no open carry of handguns allowed on this property<. https://www.google.com/search?q=Texa...CAPPDO_enUS872
so if you open carry a gun to some apartment incall locations you are breaking the law. I would hazzard a guess that hotels have these signs too. I need to check on that. I know HEB has this sign now posted at all locations.
